Backlinks for Etsy sellers building their own shop
Etsy listings live on Etsy's domain, so you cannot point bought links at them in a way you control. A shop on your own domain is different, and this page is about that second case.

Decision
Own domain: yes. Etsy listing: think twice
Links to a standalone shop build your own site's profile. Links to an Etsy listing mostly help a page on someone else's platform, which you do not control and cannot move.
- Own shop on Shopify or WooCommerce: links make sense
- Etsy-only seller: spend first on photos and titles
- Planning to leave Etsy: start the shop's link profile early
Why sellers look at their own shop
Etsy sets the rules for fees, ads and search, and those rules change. Many sellers keep a second storefront on their own domain for exactly that reason.
A new domain starts with no links at all. That is where a few placements from craft, gift or home blogs give Google something to follow, and where shoppers who read those blogs may actually click.
Do not expect a link to fix a weak product page. Photos, descriptions, shipping information and reviews still decide whether a visitor buys.
A plan for an own-shop link order
Choose one product page
Pick the item that already sells on Etsy, and rebuild its page on your own domain.
Filter for the niche
In the link shop, set niche to crafts or gifts and language to English, then sort by price.
Check after a few weeks
Look at impressions for that page in Search Console and compare with the period before.
One more thing about Etsy rules
Read Etsy's own seller policies before you send shoppers away from the platform. Rules on off-site sales and contact differ by situation, and we are not the right source for them.
Your own shop and your Etsy shop can live side by side. Just keep product details consistent in both places.
Reciprocal link URL swaps: tempting, usually weak
| Approach | What happens | Our view |
|---|---|---|
| Swap links with a seller friend | Two small shops link to each other | Fine for community, tiny SEO value |
| Large reciprocal link URL directory | Hundreds of pairs | Reads as a scheme, avoid |
| A partner page on your shop | One or two natural mentions | Reasonable if the shops really fit |
What we cannot tell you
We do not know your niche, your photos or your conversion rate. Any claim about extra sales would be invented.
What we can say is how the product works: single dofollow placements from $1, an automatically written article with one link to your page, and a status list for every order.

Etsy seller checklist
- Own domain live with at least five product pages
- Each page has its own photos, title and description
- A product feed or sitemap submitted to Google Search Console
- One page chosen for the first links
- A sheet to log every order
A short story of the move, as a sketch
Picture one imaginary seller of printed tote bags. She sells on Etsy and opens a Shopify store in March. Pure sketch. No real results stand behind it.
For the first month the new store gets no organic visits. She buys three placements for $27 in total, aimed at her best-selling tote page, and writes the dates in a sheet.
What she learns is not a revenue number. She learns whether Google starts to show the page for her product terms, and that is the only honest thing a first order can tell her, long before sales figures make sense.
